AZILECT®: New hope for Parkinson’s Disease patients
In 2006, Teva Neuroscience launched AZILECT® (rasagiline mesylate), the only once-daily treatment for Parkinson’s Disease (PD). AZILECT® is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of PD, both as initial therapy alone and to be added to levodopa later in the disease.
Teva Neuroscience continues to invest in research in PD and has recently completed a large international study assessing whether rasagiline affects disease progression. The study results are being analysed and Teva plans to file a submission in Canada and with Health Authorities worldwide to possibly expand the indication for AZILECT®.
